Nicola Gardner
Well here we are in 2023!. The last 2 years have been great for me, I was cast in a fabulous role in Coronation Street playing Helena the Undertaker. The scenes are available to view on my Spotlight profile. My shows The Windrush Warriors & The Community Centre go from strength to strength and are currently being considered for TV & radio. Take a look at some outstanding reviews, see below.
I was recently cast in a show for Black History Month, Windrush Women, Backbone of the NHS. This was a devised production that had a sell-out show at Manchester's Zion Centre.
By the way, I'm delighted that you're interested in me! Let me tell you a little about my background. I've been a performer since childhood. My earlier years were spent at drama & ballet classes at the Russell Leite Theatre School in Manchester. I trained as an actor at the North Cheshire Theatre School achieving LAMDA acting awards at honours level. I've also been to America to attend Master classes at the TVI Studios in Los Angeles. In addition I've achieved RADA Shakespeare certificates with Merits for the performance of Shakespearean drama.
I've had featured roles in Coronation Street, Emmerdale & The Royal to mention just a few television productions. I've performed in many radio plays for BBC Radio 4, toured with Northern Broadsides Theatre Company & appeared in plays at theatres nationwide. In short, I am a highly experienced, inspired actor and I love to act! I love the classics and have a real affinity for Shakespeare- I've played Titania, Portia, Dionyza & I would love to play all of Shakespeare's fascinating female characters.
I'm also a writer & I specialise in writing comedy. I write & perform in a variety of settings from stand-up to radio, from sketches to situation comedy. I perform stand-up as myself or as a character - Florence the West Indian Lesbian & Clarissa the Air Jamaica Stewardess - both characters are bundles of fun to perform! I've written plays and they have been performed at venues in Manchester city centre. Most recently I have written, produced & acted in my own comedy production, The Community Centre which aims to promote diversity & inclusion via the medium of laughter and entertainment. The play has been a great success and I am developing plans to put The Community Centre on to Radio & Television.
In addition to acting I'm a professional presenter & I've presented on radio, websites, seminars, corporate events, training films & shopping channels.
I've included clips of productions I've been in and also clips with material that I've written. I hope you enjoy watching them and contact me immediately to arrange a meeting - I'm ready to accelerate my career with continuous high level work. I hope to meet with you soon!
